Rachel Hammersley

Rachel Hammersley is Professor of Intellectual History at the University of Newcastle. Trained at the universities of Cambridge and Sussex, she is the author of numerous works on the history of republican and radical ideas in Britain and Europe in early modern times. Rachel Hammersley’s most recent book is James Harrington. An Intellectual Biography (Oxford University Press, 2019).
