Archive of Ideas
The Institute of Intellectual History possesses a vast archive of material from renowned historians. Part of this archive consists of audio recordings and teaching material which is of educational value to anyone interested in political thought and history. A selection of our archive is now made publicly available here.
Intellectual History in
A Thousand Manuscripts
This project aims to raise awareness of the wide holdings of the Institute, which include the papers of leading intellectual historians and political theorists, but also to flag up the discovery of new manuscripts in intellectual history across the scholarly world. A large number of editors and researchers are involved in this initiative.
Our audio archive includes a number of interviews with leading intellectual historians which have never been made available to a general public before now. We will, moreover, be regularly adding new interviews to our archive in the ‘New Work in Intellectual History’ section.
Listen and learn history from some of the best practitioners of Intellectual History. In our audio archive you will be able to listen in on a number of recorded lectures on various topics by John Burrow, István Hont, Teresa Bejan, Rachel Hammersley, Donald Winch and many others.
